Privacy Policy – Winosseur

Last updated: June 9, 2026Winosseur ("the App") is developed by Jeffrey Pickett. This policy describes how the App handles your data. What I collect
– Wine collection and drinking history data you enter into the App, stored locally on your device
– A taste profile (your preferences and any notes you volunteer) stored on my server, keyed to a random identifier – never to your name or email
– Usage analytics via PostHog to improve the App (app opens, feature usage and, for some events, the names of wines you scan and the edits you type into a bottle's details), keyed to the same random identifier
– Random identifiers for rate limiting, voice-feature accounting and purchases – no name, no email, no advertising ID
What I do NOT collect
– Your name, email, or account credentials (the App has no accounts)
– Your location or contacts
– Your voice. Speech recognition runs on your device and your audio is not sent to my servers – only the recognized text of what you say is sent to generate a reply. (On the rare device or language Apple doesn't support on-device recognition, Apple's own speech service processes the audio under Apple's privacy policy.)
– Your photos. The camera is used for scanning bottles, menus and dishes; images are processed to answer your request and are never stored on any server.
Third-party services
– Google Gemini processes photos, your questions and relevant details from your collection to generate responses. Sent for processing, not retained by me.
– ElevenLabs turns Winey's written replies into spoken audio. It receives only the reply text – never your voice, never an identifier.
– RevenueCat manages purchases under an anonymous ID. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple; I never see your payment details. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
– PostHog collects the usage analytics described above. See posthog.com/privacy.
– Supabase hosts the App's backend. See supabase.com/privacy.
– CellarTracker import: if you import your collection, your CellarTracker credentials go directly from your device to cellartracker.com, are used once and are never stored or seen by my servers.
Data storage
Your wine collection lives on your device. It is never synced to or stored on any server – portions are sent transiently to Google Gemini only when needed to answer a request (a pairing, an enrichment, a question), and are not stored. Conversations with Winey are not stored anywhere – not on my servers and not on your device.
Your rights
"Delete All My Data" in the App removes everything stored on your device. Server-side records (the taste profile and anonymous usage records described above) are keyed to a random identifier that is discarded when you delete the App; to have them removed as well, email me and I'll take care of it.
